My yoga practice began as a focus on only the asana practice, but I quickly realized that yoga was way more than a sequences of poses. Yoga gives me these flashes of understanding and compassion that communicates this fierce truth, and I begin to understand this connection better with myself and my surroundings. Our perception of self is released just long enough for us to feel connected to our true nature or connected to Earth.

This practice has been powerful and healing. For me, yoga is creativity, clarity, and a living art. Since I have developed my craft of teaching yoga, it has been a humbling and empowering experience. I lean towards Vinyasa and Yin-style classes with a creative and purposeful intention. I teach yoga in hopes of bringing tools to others that will help bring clarity, compassion, and understanding in their lives.

With a focus on harnessing strength, over flexibility, my style is for the masses.  I believe in functional transitions that are always changing yet consistently tap into core strength. My style is motivational. I pull inspiration from things as varied as the Yoga Sutras and my eternal fondness of Muhammad Ali.  I believe in a fluid practice that constantly "moves the cheese" but touches the entire body -- ending in a long, restful savasana.

I have been practicing since 2001 and teaching since 2004.  I hold a 500hr certification from Laughing Lotus NYC with a 100HRs of training in yin and energy work.  I am also working toward a 300HR with Yoga Medicine & a 300HR in Yoga Psychology with Ashley Turner.  These programs touch on opposite spectrums of "what I love about yoga" --- it's innate ability to heal and connect us to our physical body and it's ancient wisdom of what's beyond the physical body and lies solely in our energy.

I practice yoga because it is a saving grace that brings clarity, adjusts my attitude and reminds me every time how strong I can be. I teach in hopes that everyone leaves their mat feeling the same way.

My approach to yoga is intentional and mindful. Some days that means moving deep through the postures by the connection of body and breath and other days it is through slow with an internal focus. There are no two days the body is the same and I believe in meeting yourself on your mat for who you are at that very moment. I encourage students to find their own rhythm and be courageous in exploring what their own practice is. Be open to experiencing what is in store without expectations or ego.

My goal in teaching is that you will find someway it makes your life better. Maybe you feel less pain physically or emotionally, you find more self-confidence, you get creative, or you feel more grounded. Your mat is a space to be you, to learn about your true nature and cultivate awareness. My advice to students is to keep exploring yoga until you find a path that feels right. That means the right teacher, the right space and the right style for you. Yoga is for everyone.

I decided to get certified to deepen my own practice but in the end was inspired to help others find their own. I have found so much happiness on my mat. Even on the days where I feel down about life, when I'm ill, when I feel lacking in some way. I want everyone to be able to experience the joy found in a yoga practice.

The goal in my class is to let go of one's ego, shedding protective layers and to meet one's true self on the mat. Through Asana practice we clearly experience our physical body as a mirror that serves to reach the deeper levels of our soul. I teach a rhythmic and creative Vinyasa Flow. We work with repetition of a main sequence so that the body can fully dive into the movement without thinking too much. We incorporate challenging, fun poses and transitions in a very playful way.

I am a professional, performing Dance Artist (BFA), Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) and Reiki practitioner. Originally from Germany, I moved to Atlanta, GA in 2009 and started performing with gloAtL, TLang Dance and currently with CORE Performance Company in my 4th season. I started practicing Yoga 12 years ago to find a spiritual, non-competitive way of movement to support and balance the work I do as a dancer. I have found a deep spiritual practice through the practice of Yoga which grounds me and encourages constant growth. After my first 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in Germany, I continued with my second 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training at Laughing Lotus in NYC, New York.

I have been teaching for the past 9 years because I enjoy sharing and most importantly learning from my students!

I have always been inspired by the therapeutic powers of yoga for the mind, body, breath, and soul. I come to my mat for a place to relieve stress, get grounded, and find balance. Off of the mat, I am working towards a license in professional counseling and combining my knowledge of clinical mental health with the holistic healing abilities of yoga and meditation.

My class style emphasizes proper alignment, a strong connection to the breath, self-awareness, and honoring your body wherever it is in that moment. I strive to bring a sense of fun and freedom to my classes while imparting bits of yogic wisdom along the way. My goal is to have students leave each class with a sense of empowerment, strength, energy, and a deep connection to their mind, body, and soul.

With a strong background in medicine and fitness my yoga classes have an emphasis on optimal body alignment, flexibility, and core strengthening. I believe in challenging my students in a way that will help them realize just what wonderful things they are truly capable of achieving. As a former dancer, my flow tends to be creative and paired with uplifting music. During savasana you may be treated to some relaxing Reiki healing energy that will help you leave my class with a sense of empowerment and calm.

I began my yoga practice in 2005 during my stressful surgical residency. Yoga has remained a mainstay in my life to keep me balanced. I hold a 200HR certification and a Reiki Master practitioner certification from the acclaimed Yandara Yoga Institute in Bali, Indonesia. I'm also a comprehensive Power Pilates certified instructor.

I believe we all have the power within ourselves to create the lives we want and the person we strive to be. The practice of yoga has enabled me to be my best self and I feel so blessed to have this gift to share with others so they too can feel that same joy.

I aim to cultivate a practice that leaves the ego behind and allows me to be curious, non-judgmental and open to learning what yoga can teach me about my mind and body. I try to understand my body’s limits and I enjoy exploring that by pushing myself, mindfully, in my practice in order to learn and grow. I love arm balances and inversions and balancing postures – I find that it takes me to a place of stillness and pushes me both mentally and physically. I truly understand yoga to be journey and every time we step on our mat we are practicing. The shapes we take don’t have to be perfect, or look exactly like the person next to us. It is about experiencing the sensations of the pose and what it can do for our bodies. One of the most important things I want people to remember in our practice is to not compare yourself to others. The point of doing yoga isn’t to be “good at it”; its for yoga to be good for you.

Shortly after I started taking yoga several years ago I realized how passionate I was about the practice. I couldn’t get enough, and would take as many classes during the week as I could fit into my schedule. I began teaching friends and family because I wanted to share my practice and enjoyed teaching. After I graduated college I decided to get certified to teach because I knew I still had so much to learn and I wanted to immerse myself even further into my passion. My goal is to empower my students to try new things, push themselves, respect their bodies and to simply enjoy all the benefits that this practice has to offer.

My vinyasa classes tend to be creative flows that challenge students to build strength and flexibility while allowing time to turn inward. I enjoy bringing current music and playfulness while motivating students to take challenges and push themselves. I approach restorative and yoga nidra as an opportunity to guide students to find stillness and be comfortable there gaining a physical and mental balance.

I teach because yoga was transformative in my life during a difficult time. Coming to my mat gave me a physical practice but, most importantly, taught me strength, resilience, forgiveness, humility and so much more. It gave me an outlet to deal with anxiety and a way to connect with my spirituality. I got certified to deepen my own practice but also to find a way to share yoga with more people who I hope will receive the same benefits.

When I started practicing yoga I was a professional dancer in NYC who was looking for another ”workout” to stay skinny. But here’s what I found: yoga became my church and a spiritual journey connecting me to the Divine; sweating on my mat became my prayers helping me live with more compassion, stay focused and honest; showing up to a yoga class was healing my broken heart after a very hard breakup allowing me to deal with reality in a loving way, and… I was staying fit and strong. To top it off I embraced a new love for my body instead of judging it. Hallelujah!

I'm passionate about guiding people to have better communication with their bodies through the practices of yoga and extremely devoted to creating a fun and inspiring place on the mat to safely let lose of any mental, physical or spiritual inhibition holding people back from living a full and marvelous life.

My 200-hour training at Laughing Lotus Yoga Center in NYC, my experience teaching since 2009, background as a professional dancer, meditation practice, and spiritual studies have allowed me to follow my mission to help people cultivate courage, strength, compassion and rejuvenate a deep love for themselves and their bodies.

I like to create an inviting atmosphere where students can find grounding, be creative,
and hone in on their inner power. My approach to yoga is to come as you are. It does
not matter if you can do all the poses, come as you are and you will feel the
transformational benefits of yoga in your mind, body and spirit.

I found yoga in my early adult life as a complement to my dance training and a release
from day to day stressors. The flexibility and strength benefits I receive from yoga has
helped reduce the chronic back pain I experience from scoliosis, while keeping me
balanced and grounded in my everyday life. I continue to discover more about myself
every time I surrender to my mat. I teach to share the strength and healing benefits of
yoga in hopes that students will find self-love, self-discovery and transformation.

My mantra: Be who you are; do what you love; make a difference; change the world.

I teach because I am interested in the myriad of ways in which you can engage your spirit through movement and meditation and for me, yoga is the best way to do this. I truly believe that, with guidance, yoga is accessible to everyone and I love seeing how people connect with their practice in different ways.

When I set out to get my 200 hour certification in 2018, I expected to walk away with an advance form of my own practice. I did not expect that I would in fact walk away with a deeper bond to myself or that I would actually want to teach classes. Since then I have found that teaching allows me to share what I have learned with others, opening my experience with yoga from an individual journey to one that connects us to each other.

I came to yoga for the physical workout but stayed for the compassionate community and the lessons in self love. My teaching style strives to strike a balance between the physical and mental benefits of yoga so that yogis of all kinds can walk away from my class with whatever they need. I believe that yoga should be accessible and sustainable for all, so I offer modifications and alignment instructions for those seeking to ease or advance their practice.

In my classes students will grow their awareness of body and breath to find deeper physical and emotional strength - whether through an energetic flow or a sweet meditation.
I teach to share the lessons of awareness and compassion that I have learned on my mat, with the hope that the tools we learn in the studio help us to live bigger, bolder, and brighter lives out in the world.
